The Drunken Sailors – those musical mariners thirsty for whiskey & beer, and bringers of great Celtic joy – were founded in Trieste in 2010 through the shared passion of two guitarists for folk music. The guitars are flanked by self-taught traditional instruments such as the tin whistle, banjo and Irish bouzouki. Over the years, the duo has specialized in songs associated with Irish and English maritime traditions (shanties), along with traditional Celtic & Scottish music, and songs from the American Civil War. With nearly 150 concerts under their belts, in April 2015 they released The Day of Doom, an album of previously unpublished songs. Since 2014, at festivals they are accompanied by Guido Pecorelli.
