Mägo de Oz is a folk metal band from Begoña, Madrid, formed in mid-1988 by drummer Txus di Fellatio. Taking their name from the novel by Lyman Frank Baum, the group is known for their strong Celtic feeling fuelled by flutes & violin and elaborate sound structures. The nine-piece lineup mixes folk and metal with a mystical and crazy touch that infuses their music with all kinds of history.
Standout among their numerous albums is La leyenda de La Mancha (1998), a rock opera inspired by the story of Don Quixote that includes Molinos de Viento, one of the group’s biggest hits which frequently features towards the end of their concerts.
