From Romania in a frenzy. Celtic, naturally.
Because Selfish Murphy was born in 2011 in a place you’d least expect it – Sf. Gheorghe, in Transylvania – thus representing the first band to import a piece of Ireland into the land of vampires, playing an unknown genre of music to their compatriots, punk rock with a Celtic soul, inspired by historical bands such as Flogging Molly, the Dropkick Murphys, and Fiddlers Green. Their goal? To recreate live the magical atmosphere of an Irish pub. The recipe is simple but highly effective: beer mugs always full, a great desire to party, and a musical repertoire that alternates between traditional songs with punk rearrangements, covers of modern pieces transformed into authentic Irish folklore style, and lively, catchy original tracks.
